ForgeFire Designs is the outcome of a process of personal development. I wanted to invest in something that can help me grow as a person and live a more fulfilling life. I had spent most of my life just settling and living a life of obligation. This company is my way of pursuing a life of freedom and fulfillment.
Somehow, I had forgotten what it was like to dream. I remember one of my earliest passions straight out of high school was art and I eventually majored in game design. Game design did not really pan out for me the way I hoped. I literally overworked myself and just crashed; that was when I gave up on art altogether.
I ended up working in different industries over the years, finally settling into the steel-cutting profession. My work may have been fascinating but I hated how mundane the tasks were. I felt like the job did not give me much room to grow and I hated the lack of freedom to do what I wanted.
I was not happy as my whole life was revolving around a job I felt trapped in, and somewhere along the line I had started to believe that was all that I was destined to do. After almost a decade, I started reflecting on my life.
A year had past and that was when I told myself that I wished to explore art again. Even though I felt that I was far removed from it, I still pursued it anyway. I did not know where to begin; I had spent all that time learning to cut steel but I never really thought of using it as a platform for creativity. With that in mind, I came up with the idea of using my experience in the steel trade to create something new.
I started thinking of my experience as an advantage rather than a hindrance. I could express my ideas in a way that most people wouldn’t know how.
My first attempts showed me the endless possibilities of what we I could achieve. As I engaged more people into dialogue about my ideas, it sparked a burning passion in me that I thought had been long dead. I also found a strong support system from my newfound friends who helped me muster up the courage I needed to venture into a territory unfamiliar to most people.
I realised that teaching people about the different ways we can create art out of steel was my new calling. Hearing the excitement from others as they begin to bring their ideas to life, I found my goal.
Thus, ForgeFire Designs was born. The company was not only an outlet for my artistic expression but also serves a way for me to impact the world around me through inspiring ideas in other people. I want to motivate other artists and help them break the mould as well.
